We made another English episoooode! This time the InScience Filmfestival in Nijmegen! InScience is a festival for films about science and technology and they asked us to organize a conversation about the relationship between technology and racism. We invited the amazing scholars Flavia Dzodan and Wayne Modest to take over our channel and talk about what's at stake when the algorithms that form our technology are influenced by racism, coloniality and sexism in such a great manner. Oh! And what is the relationship with museums?
Our conversation is inspired by the film Coded Bias by Shalini Kantayya, which explores how artificial intelligence is increasingly governing our liberties. The documentary centers the work MIT Media Lab researcher Joy Buolamwini, who delves into an investigation of widespread bias in algorithms.
The amazing music in this episode is by Illest Preacha ft. Axim and Rambling Intellect. Three of the most genius creatives we know, who are healing code, decolonizing algorithms and free styling with data. We have no idea what all of this means but it sounds great. Check them out on Youtube!!!
